Police Commemoration Day which falls on 21st October is a tribute to the police personnel who work round the clock to maintain security and peace so as to facilitate progress and development.
Police Commemoration Day was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar under the able guidance of Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. Declamation Contests in English and Punjabi languages, Essay writing and Poster making competitions on the theme of – ‘Role of Police in Nation Building’ were organised on this occasion.
The judges for the Declamation Contest were Ms Kanwal, Ms Jaspreet Boparai and Ms Savita Maini. The event was held under the supervision of Mr Rajkumar and Ms Urvashi Arora.
The students from classes ninth to twelfth expressed their thoughts regarding the tremendous contribution of the police personnel in the society and expressed their gratitude for the same. 32 students participated in English and Punjabi Declamation. In essay writing, 50 students penned their feelings of gratitude and appreciation in the form of essays. Around 45 students displayed their creativity and aesthetics through beautiful posters depicting the role of Police force. A poem and group song on the same theme were also a part of the programme.
Principal Dr Rashmi Vij, in her address, stressed on the massive role played by the police officers in maintaining law and order. She acquainted the students with the fact that Police Commemoration Day is celebrated throughout the nation in honour of the diligence and devotion displayed by the police force. The worthy guest and the judges were presented
with tokens of appreciation. The winners were awarded certificates by Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. The event was coordinated by Ms Neetu Gupta, Ms Suruchi Sharma, Mr Manoj Dutta and Ms Preeti Khehra.
