Diwali Celebration

Deepawali connotes brilliance and joy. The atmosphere is vibrant with lights, decorations and festivities. Deepawali was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar with a lot of fervour and gaiety. On this occasion the presentation gave the message that as the environment outside is lit up, one must also endeavour to brighten up the darkness inside oneself through self introspection and kindness towards fellow human beings. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij reiterated the fact that true happiness lies in giving happiness to others.

The celebration in the primary wing began with a beautiful song expressing Diwali wishes followed by a play depicting the story of Lord Rama which is symbolic of victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.

The students also presented an enticing dance to show their joy.

In the pre-primary wing, the story of Ramayana was presented by the students of UKG and first classes. Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij gave the message to all the students to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali and shun the use of firecrackers. On the occasion of Diwali, Rangoli, Mehndi, Nail Art competitions were organized for classes 9th to 12th. Diya decoration, thali decoration, toran making, latkan making competitions were held for the students of classes 2nd to 8th.

With the guidance of Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, the Social Welfare Club of the school went to ‘Mother Cares Special School’ located in Urban Estate Phase 1 and distributed books and stationery items to the children there and the teachers of the Social Welfare Club donated eatables and ration at Guru Nanak Vruddhashram Budhiyana.
