National Education Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first minister of Education of Independent India. The day is a reminder of the immense role played by education in the progress of an individual, society and nation at large. To create awareness about the same, National Education Day was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar. The event was graced by Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. Supervisor Ms Urvashi was also present on the occasion. The celebration included a speech and two poems that acquainted the students with the tremendous contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in the field of education and the role played by education in our lives. A melodious song by the students drove home the message effectively. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij in her address stressed on the fact that all must endeavour to widen their horizons and keep the thirst for knowledge alive. The event was coordinated by the in charges of the Literary Club, Ms Ritu Monga, Ms Preeti Chaudhary, Ms Alisha and Ms Ravneet Kaur.
