Open Day on the theme ‘Bharat Darshan: A Spectacular Indian Odyssey’ organised at Police DAV Public School
Open Day on the theme of ‘Bharat Darshan: A Spectacular Indian Odyssey’ was organised in the Pre Primary Wing of Police DAV Public School. On this occasion, Mr. M.S. Farooqui, IPS, ADGP, State Armed Police graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour was Mr. Vineet Dhir, Mayor Jalandhar. The guests were welcomed by Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij.
Principals of various schools were also present on this occasion.
The open day started with the ‘Incredible India’ Parade in which the school band played the tune of ‘Sare Jahan Se Achcha’. The tableaus showcasing India’s Navy, Army and Air Force, ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’, models of different states of India, showing the unity in diversity of India and at the end of the parade, a tableau of Developed India – Digital India mesmerized all present on the occasion.
The children also presented a very captivating dance depicting the theme of national integration through the song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’.
An exhibition of craft work, notebook work done by the children of nursery to second class and items related to dance, culture, art forms and cuisine of different states like Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal and Punjab were showcased. The tiny tots shared information about the major tourist spots and prominent personalities belonging to those places. On one side Rangla Punjab and on the other side glimpse of Kashmir captivated everyone’s mind. Yoga, skating, gymnastics were also performed.
There were also various food stalls on this occasion. Preparations for the open day were done under the supervisors Ms Savita Sharma and Ms Gargi Sharma.
Parents gave an overwhelming response and came in large numbers to witness the fabulous event.
