WORLD BOOK DAY CELEBRATED AT POLICE DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL
Books have rightly been called ‘portable magic’. Reading books not only widens our horizons but also enhances our personalities. World Book Day was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar to sensitize the students about the immense significance of the habit of reading. The event was organised by Readers’ Club of the school. The President of the club, Niharika, through her speech, reiterated the numerous benefits of reading and
how reading books help us be a better version of ourselves. A song presented by the students also stressed on the importance of books. An oath was taken by all present that they would cultivate the habit of reading books. The students in the primary sector too enthusiastically participated in the activity. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij, in her address motivated students to delve deep into reading and make it a part of their routine so as to enrich their lives. She said that it is the constant endeavour of the school to encourage reading and provide adequate facilities for the same. It was followed by ‘Book buddy’ activity which was organised in the library. Students presented the review of the books and the learning experiences they had.
