11th INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Yoga assimilates the ancient wisdom of India and has now become a global phenomenon gaining wide recognition world wide.

International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21st June as a reminder of the tremendous significance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental and spiritual well being.

The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervour at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar. Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij along with teachers and students performed yoga asanas and did pranayam and meditation. On this occasion, 450 students of the school along with teaching, non-teaching and helping staff performed group yoga under the guidance of school yoga instructor Mr Chandra Mohan. The event was coordinated by Yoga Activity Incharge Ms Preeti Khehra.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij encouraged everyone to include yoga in their daily routine to stay healthy.

Earlier, around 222 sports students along with their coaches, teachers and NSS team had participated in the grand yoga event organised by the government on 19th June.
