Dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, Basant Panchami marks the arrival of the Spring season in India. Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge, music, learning and arts. Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar
celebrated Basant Panchami with fervour and enthusiasm for classes ll to V. Yellow became the colour of the day as the staff and the students of classes Il to V came dressed up in yellow attires .The function commenced with the Saraswati Vandana .The students and staff members worshipped Goddess Saraswati and sought blessings. The girls of class lV and V mesmerised everyone with a beautiful dance on the occasion. The students of class lll enthusiastically participated in kite decoration and pinwheel making competition. The students of class lV and V showed lot of interest in fire and non-fire cooking. A small activity ‘Dadi Nani ki Kahaniyan ‘was also organised on this occasion in which many children participated wholeheartedly and showed their interest in narrating stories to the audience. A beautiful play was also presented by the children of the wing, based on the theme of discipline in school and usage of mobile phones. The event was a huge success under the guidance of supervisor, Ms.Gargi.The school principal, Dr Rashmi Vij apprised the students about the significance of the day and appreciated the efforts of the students for making the celebration a great success.
A Sports day was organised in the pre primary wing to celebrate the festival of Basant Panchami. The children worshiped Goddess Saraswati and enjoyed kite flying. The children of class 1 presented a beautiful classical dance which mesmerised everyone.
*The children came dressed up in yellow coloured clothes and floral jewellery and enjoyed yellow coloured food.
They had a fun-filled day at school, full of Exciting games and activities, creative craftwork and Thrilling kite flying under the supervision of Mrs Savita Sharma ( Supervisor)
Principal Dr Rashmi Vij also graced the occasion and appreciated the children for their efforts.
