EARTH DAY

‘EARTH DAY’ CELEBRATED AT POLICE DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL

World Earth Day is a call to enhance environmental consciousness and a reminder on the need for collective efforts to preserve the environment. The day was celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar under the able guidance of Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. The major objective was to sensitize students about the need to take the conservation of the environment seriously and be conscious of the dire consequences of neglecting the same. The Eco Club through a brief enactment, stressed on the need to prevent global warming and focus on the cleanliness of the environment.

The event was coordinated by MsTripta Gujral, Ms Deepika Sharma, Ms Vibha Marwah and Ms Veena Chouhan.

Earth Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm in the pre primary wing of the school to make the children aware about the importance of cleanliness and maintaining the natural beauty of Mother Earth. The children were advised to inculcate the good habit of keeping the surroundings clean and developing green culture. The children were also told to develop love for plants and trees and learn to preserve and cherish them.

To encourage this attitude they were taken for a nature walk to the PAP ground and shown mango trees and learnt about the various characteristics of mango plant. Afterwards they had a ‘mango party.’

The children made earth day badges and various activities related to earth day were carried out.

The children of Nursery and LKG brought and planted saplings in the school. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij also spread the message of keeping the environment green and healthy by doing plantation in the school. She praised the children for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to keep up the good work in future.’EARTH DAY’ CELEBRATED AT POLICE DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL
