World Book Day

In a vibrant tribute to the world of literature, the Readers’ Club of Police DAV Public School celebrated World Book Day with great enthusiasm and intellectual fervor. Organized under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, the event featured a medley of activities designed to foster a lifelong love for reading among students.

The celebrations started with an insightful speech by Aastha Verma (Class XII), who highlighted the historical significance of World Book Day and its role in promoting global literacy. This was followed by a soulful rendition of Gulzar’s famous poem on books, by Ayush Pathak, capturing the nostalgia and evolving relationship between readers and the printed word.

The atmosphere was further enriched by a melodious English group song ‘Open a Book, Open a World’ by Readers’ Club members:

Sumona, Inayat, Ramanpreet, Swastika, Jasmeet, Divya, Yakshita, and Suhani.

In a collective display of bibliophilia, the Principal, teachers, and students participated in a unique initiative where everyone brought an additional book to school. At a scheduled time, the entire campus fell into a productive silence as the school community read together, underscoring the power of shared literary experiences.

A highlight of the event was the Book Buddy.

Pairs of students engaged in deep-dive discussions, sharing their unique perspectives on several acclaimed titles:Book Title Author

To ensure a comprehensive understanding, each presentation was followed by a dynamic Q&A session, allowing the audience to engage with the themes and narratives presented.
