Ms Anita Kumari, a Social Science teacher from Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, was declared the National Winner at the 11th Tata Class Edge Classroom Championship 2026 held in Mumbai.
The award was presented to Ms Anita Kumari by Mr. KRS Jamwal, Executive Director of Tata Industries Limited, and Mr Tarun Bhojwani, Director, Tata Class Edge.
The competition had four rounds. The first round was a class observation round held in August 2025.
The second round, held in October, involved submission of write-ups on classroom teaching pedagogy, with 2,500 entries from across India.
In the third round held in March 2026, Anita Kumari from the North Zone was selected in the top eight at the zonal level from among the 2,500 entries, and was declared the national winner in the final round held in Mumbai on April 21-22, 2026. Anita Kumari won the Tata Class Edge Classroom Championship trophy and a cash prize of ₹30,000.
In 2023, Ms Harpreet Kaur, a Police DAV Public School teacher had finished third in the same competition, and in 2024, Ms Amanpreet qualified for the national championship in the top eight.
In 2025, Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij served as a judge for the championship.
In 2026, Ms Anita Kumari won the first prize at the national level.
For the past four consecutive years, Police DAV Public School has been participating and winning this championship. Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij congratulated Ms Anita Kumari on her success.
