Swimmers from Police DAV Public School Dominate the 37th Sub-Junior Punjab State Swimming Championship
Swimming athletes from Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. performed exceptionally well at the 37th Sub-Junior Punjab State Swimming Championship, held from July 17th to 18th at DPS, Ferozepur. The Jalandhar team, with its outstanding performance, won trophies in both the boys’ and girls’ categories, ultimately securing the overall trophy.
1. Divjot Singh (Boys Group)
Divjot Singh displayed exceptional performance in his categories.
He won gold medals in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 4x100m freestyle relay, and 4x100m medley relay.
200m I.M. (I.M.) and silver medals in the 200m butterfly.
2. Pawan Bhatia (Girls – Group)
Won gold medals in the 200m butterfly and 4x100m medley relay.
Won silver medals in the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, and 50m breaststroke.
Won bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
3. Jasmeet Kaur (Girls – Group)
Won bronze medals in the 4x50m freestyle relay, 4x50m medley relay, and 100m butterfly.
4. Elisha (Girls – Group)
: Won a bronze medal in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
The boys’ Group won the third place, the
Girls’ Group won the third place and both the boys’ and girls’ categories captured the overall trophy.
Divjot and Pawan Bhatia were also selected for the National Swimming Championship to be held in Jaipur from August 6-9.
Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir congratulated the athletes and their coach Mr Mohinderpal Sharma on their remarkable success. Mr Vinod Sharma, Ms Dimpy Malik, and Tejaswini were also present on the occasion.
