Independence Day is a momentous occasion that fills every Indian heart with pride and patriotism. It is a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. The day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar.
Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir hoisted the flag followed by the playing of the national anthem. All the supervisors were present on the occasion. Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir inspected the parade at the assembly ground.
Cadets from theNCC-Army Wing, Navy Wing, Air Wing, NSS, Scouts and Guides, and Skating team, led by Parade Commander Abhijeet Singh, paraded to the tune of the song “Saare Jahan Se Achha” played by the school band.
The group song filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. A short play prepared by Tejasvi House, reiterated the immense contribution of the freedom fighters to the country’s independence and reminded students of their duties as citizens of the country. A pledge was made to build an India where there is truth, non-violence, and a safe environment.
In the primary wing, a short play was presented to tell about the lives of freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and the contributions of the three armed forces.
Independence Day was celebrated with great gusto at the pre primary wing.
A beautiful enactment and dance based on ‘Operation Sindoor’ was performed. It gave the message of brotherhood and inculcated patriotism in the children. The children of class 1 expressed their thoughts on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day.
The children also brought tri coloured food in their tiffins and shared it with their friends, highlighting the importance of sharing and caring.
Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir encouraged all students to be productive members of the society and make diligent efforts for the upliftment and progress of the country.
