Teej is a symbol of the vibrance and buoyant spirit of Punjab and is an integral part of the culture and heritage of the state. The festival was celebrated with a lot of fervour at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar. The students of eleventh and twelfth were clad in multihued and vibrant Punjabi costumes. Girls performed gidha which added to the vibrance of the event. The colourful decorations added to the atmosphere of gaiety. The chief guest for the event was Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. The supervisors of various wings were also present on the occasion. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij reiterated the significance of such festivals which help in remaining connected to our roots. Students tapped their feet to popular songs. Students enjoyed participating in games like tug of war, ‘kikli’ and ‘Hanky picking’. Stalls of eatables were also set up to add to the fun. The event was coordinated by Mr Rajkumar, Ms Neetu Gupta and Ms Seema Sharma. The judges were Ms Divya, Ms Neeraj and Ms Sonu Kapoor. The students were judged on the basis of their performances and costumes. Various titles were given to the students.
