MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Addressing mental health issues faced by students is essential for their overall well-being and helping them realise their full potential. By identification, early intervention and support, schools and families can create a positive and nurturing environment that promotes emotional balance and resilience.

Mental Health Day was observed at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar on 10th October. The event was organised by CBSE Counselling Hub headed by honourable Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. The programme was a part of the observance of ‘Mental Health Week’.

The theme taken up for the presentation was- ‘School- A Blissful Refuge’. The event commenced with a speech on the immense relevance of mental health and the necessity to get rid of the stigma associated with mental health issues. The speaker encouraged students to come forward and share openly the psychological problems faced by them so that adequate counselling to cope with the same can be provided.

The students presented a dance performance on the theme of being happy and exploring the unlimited possibilities presented by life. The students were encouraged to use the helpline that provides round the clock assistance to students to come out of a variety of issues they grapple with.

On this occasion, students also took a pledge for mental well being.

The event was organised under the supervision of Mr Raj Kumar and Ms Urvashi Arora. Ms Vani and Mr Harkamal coordinated the event.
