A lecture was organized at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar, under the aegis of DAV United, featuring an address by an alumnus of the institution. The event was conducted with the support and direction of Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, reflecting a commitment to alumni involvement for student development. The speaker, Cdr. Hardeep Singh of the Indian Navy, a distinguished alumnus, delivered a presentation designed to inform students about the Indian Navy as a viable career path and a significant avenue for national service. The lecture was attended by students from the Commerce and Science streams of classes XI and XII. Cdr. Hardeep Singh presented a video highlighting various aspects of the Indian Navy, including the role of submarines in defense. He also provided details on the eligibility requirements and the process for joining the Indian Navy. The students demonstrated strong engagement throughout the session, posing several questions that were effectively addressed by the speaker.
As the adage states, "You may leave school, but it never leaves you." Graduates depart their alma mater to embark on new life chapters, yet cherished childhood memories endure. The "Police DAV DAY," hosted by the Police DAV Alumni Angels Welfare Society, provides a valuable opportunity for global alumni to reconnect and reminisce.
"Police DAV Day 2025 – Homecoming – Where the Journey Begins," held on school premies under the auspices of DAV UNITED and the expert guidance of Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, welcomed approximately 130 alumni.
Ms. Chandermohini delivered the welcome address to commence the event. Supervisors Mr. Raj Kumar and Ms. Urvashi received a floral welcome. A lamp-lighting ceremony invoked blessings. This was followed by the DAV Gaan. Students captivated the audience with a spectacular instrumental music performance.
A PowerPoint presentation detailed the Society's various programs, including blood donation drives, motivational lectures by successful alumni, sports days, and support for underprivileged students. The presentation also highlighted the school's remarkable 28-year journey from its humble beginnings to its current standing.
Dr. Rashmi Vij, Principal, delivered a video message encouraging alumni to actively participate in Society affairs, remain connected to their roots, and contribute wholeheartedly to the Society's initiatives. She urged them to observe the first Saturday of June as "Police DAV DAY," regardless of their location.
A captivating cultural program, performed by current students, was enjoyed by all. Distinguished alumni, including Amandeep Kaur, Parampreet Kaur, Rajat Kumar, Santokh Singh, Anuriti, and Nidhi Sharma, expressed sincere gratitude for the school's role in shaping their character and instilling strong values. They shared their experiences with fellow alumni. Mr. Navjot Singh Thind, an alumnus, delivered the vote of thanks.
The teachers who are a part of the Alumini Society -Mr Pushpender Singh, Mrs Chandermohini, Mrs Meenakshi Kalra and Mr Deepak Mehta along with the other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
The third Police DAV Day was celebrated at Toronto, Canada by the Police DAV Alumni Angels Welfare Society, under the aegis of DAV United. The chief guest for the event was Ms Nina Tangri(MPP), Assiciate Minister of small businesses in Canada. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij and Supervisor Ms Savita Sharma graced the occasion. The event was attended by a large number of alumni and also the ex- members of the faculty, residing in Canada. The celebration kicked off with the playing of DAV Song. Ms Nina Tangri expressed her immense pleasure on the organisation of the event. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij motivated all present there to remain connected and extend a helping hand to each other. The alumni also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the organisation for chiseling their personalities. A PowerPoint presentation showcased the various activities of the Society.The event was coordinated by Aman Pannu, Dhruv Chopra, Mayank and Apoorav Sharma. The ex- members of the faculty who attended the event include Mr Rupinder Singh, Mr Jatinder, Mr Anuj Sharma, Mr Jatinder Singh, Ms Ritu Gandotra, Ms Anjali Narang, Ms Ravneet Bajwa and Ms Samar Parhar.
A Career Awareness Programme was organised at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar on12th October, 2023. The programme “The profession of company secretary in India” was conducted by Ms. Harshita Aggarwal, an alumnus of school from batch 2012, now a Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at M/S Exclusive Leasing and Finance Private Limited. She was accompanied by Mr. Nagesh (Company Secretary & Chartered Financial Analyst) and Mr. Manish (Office Incharge Jalandhar Branch). The purpose of this programme was to prepare good professionals who could cope with the challenges of the competitive environment. The session was attended by the students of classes XI & XII from the commerce stream. The key speakers enlightened the audience about Company Secretary Course, roles, bright future prospects and career in this field, as this profession is regulated by a Premier National Institute ‘The Institute of Company Secretaries of India’ . Students also showed keen interest and came up with many queries. Dr. (Mrs.) Rashmi Vij , Principal Police DAV Public School ,Jalandhar graced the occasion and motivated the students to explore varied and offbeat courses as such unexplored fields have very bright prospects. She also congratulated and appreciated the guest for their efforts in familiarizing students with new opportunities in commerce. All in all it was a very fruitful interactive session.
POLICE DAV DAY CELEBRATED BY ALUMNI ANGELS WELFARE SOCIETY
The alumni are the pride of an institution and also a true reflection of its greatness. The second 'Police DAV Day' was celebrated by the Police DAV Alumni Angels Welfare Society of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar with the blessings of the Chairman of the society, Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij. The event was attended by around 150 alumni. The programme commenced with a welcome address and a floral welcome to Principal Dr Rashmi Vij. This was followed by the lighting the lamp by the Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, the coordinators Ms Rashmi Bhalla, Ms Amita Rathore, teacher incharges of the alumni association and the senior alumni. The welcome song by the ambassadors of the Alumni association, the Violin Medley by Mr Chaitanya, an ex-student of the school and a song by Vinay, a participant of Saregama Little Champs, mesmerized everyone present on the occasion. The videos sent by the ex students from across the globe were heart warming. These included a video by Ms Anjali, an ex- faculty member along with a group of students settled abroad. The ambassadors then gave a captivating dance performance. The alumni of the school, Mr Anmol Sikka, Mr Sahil Arora, Mr Sahil Khosla and Ms Kanupriya expressed their gratitude towards the school for providing ample facilities and opportunities which played a major role in sculpting their personalities. They also shared experiences related to their professional lives.
Various Events organised from time to time by the Police DAV Alumni Angels Welfare Society were showcased through a ppt. These included Blood Donation Camp, Motivational lecture and Sports Day
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij gave her best wishes to the alumni and expressed her pleasure and pride on the success achieved by them. She motivated the alumni to always remain associated with the school and appreciated the financial support given by the ex students especially to the students whose families had got drastically affected by the pandemic.
On this occasion, the ex-students were able to refresh the beautiful memories associated with the school.
Bhangra presented by the alumni teachers enthralled the audience. Mr Navjot Singh Thind, the vice President of the Alumni Angels Welfare Society presented the vote of thanks.
The stage was coordinated by Ms Maninder, an alumnus of the school and now a faculty member in the school.
The program ended with the national song.

The Police DAV Angels Welfare Alumini Association celebrated ' Police DAV Day' for the first time. The event was held under the guidance of the President of the Association Mr Saumya Vij. Around three hundred ex students attended the session. The Principal along with the alumini from the session 2002 to 2011 lighted the lamp to mark the commencement of the event. Vice President Mr Navjot Singh Thind showcased the various programmes undertaken by the Association which include Blood donation camps, motivational lectures, Sports day and aiding the education of lesser privileged students of the school. Principal Dr Rashmi Vij motivated the students to be active members of the Association and urged them to not to forget their roots and to give their whole hearted contribution to the various noble causes undertaken by the organization. The students were able to relish and relive the pleasant memories of their school days. Students residing abroad also sent videos to participate in the event. The stage coordination was done by Dr Rajat and Mr Mayank. Mr Samir presented the vote of thanks. Ex students Vishal Pahwa, Harjinder, Abhishek Rana, Jagtishwar and Jasleen enlivened the atmosphere with their musical presentations. The teachers who are a part of the alumini committee Mr Pushpender Singh, Mrs Chandermohini, Mr Deepak Mehta and Ms Meenakshi Kalra were also present on the occasion.
There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, is a process of learning…in order to make this process more interesting an Alumni Meet of the Medical students of the school was held. Dr.Akash Sharma, Dr. Shyamli, Dr.Rupinder Kaur, Dr. Rosen, Dr.Navkamal, Dr.Rajat, Dr.Munishand Dr.Vineeta the Doctor Alumni of the school shared their experiences with the students of the medical stream. They inspired their juniors with their secrets on how they had prepared for their +2 Board examination and other entrance examinations like NEET. In an interactive session they shared their success stories and answered different queries of the students. They also apprised their juniors about various other career options available to them. During the session the Alumni fondly reminisced their school days and paid rich tributes to their Alma Mater.
The Alumni Association School Jalandhar organized a lecture by Jivtesh Singh, who recently passed out XII class and got admission in AIIMS Raipur.
He shared his experiences and strategies for preparing for the competitive examination. He also answered queries of students.
Saumya Vij, one of the outstanding Alumnus of Police DAV Public School Jalandhar, addressed the students of Medical and Non- Medical classes of the school on Nov 20, 2017.
Saumya Vij is a Hardware Engineer currently working at Intel Corporation, California, USA. Before Intel, he has worked at Oracle and Nvidia.
He has an M.Sc. (Economics), B.E. (Electrical Engineering) from BITS Pilani and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California Institute of Technology (Caltech) USA.
He has had a rich research experience with stints at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India, Friedrich Alexander University, Germany and École de technologie supérieure, Canada.
He is an NTSE scholar, a MITACS GLOBALINK SCHOLAR & a DAAD WISE SCHOLAR, for which, he received a scholarship for future studies by Govt. of India, Summer research in Canada and Summer research in Germany respectively.
He addressed the issues of studies in foreign universities and the attraction amongst the youngsters for foreign shores. He encouraged the students to pursue studies and empower themselves rather than seeking lucrative jobs abroad. He also answered various queries of the students regarding how to succeed in competitive exams and shared his experiences in the pursuit of excellence.
Police DAV Alumni meet was held on 27th December 2017. It was enthusiasticallyattended by as many as 200 alumni of the school ranging from the batch of 2003 to 2016.
They attended the school morning assembly which was specially organised to evoke past memories. The Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij was accorded a floral welcome by the students. In her address, she encouraged the students to join the school in various social welfare projects.
The Alumni were taken down the memory lane through a power point presentation, where the school activities were highlighted.Malvika, Amardeep, Puneet, Anandita, Shweta Arora, Saar Dhingra, Pardeep and Neha Gupta, some of the Alumni shared their old school experiences with the students of class XI. They inspired their juniors to work hard and keep the school flag flying high at all times to come.
Mrs. Chander Mohini paid a vote of thanks at the culmination of the event.
