Police DAV Public School marked the 79th Independence Day with great patriotism, zeal, and splendour. The vibrant celebrations, hosted by Ojasvi House, beautifully captured the spirit of freedom and the pride of being an Indian.
The programme began with a spectacular parade presented by the cadets of the NCC and NSS wings and Scouts and Guides unit of the school. The parade was inspected by Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij, accompanied by House In-charge Ms. Seema Sharma and the teachers of Ojasvi House.
A major highlight of the day was a mesmerising dance performance, blending music, movement, and drama into a soulful tribute to the nation. The graceful sequences and heartfelt expressions reflected the joy and pride that independence has bestowed upon us, leaving the audience spellbound.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij extended warm greetings on this auspicious occasion. She urged everyone to cherish the hard-earned freedom and honour it by walking on the path of honesty, integrity, and truthfulness towards the nation. She also reminded the students of the countless sacrifices made for our liberty and encouraged them to be responsible citizens who safeguard this precious gift.
In the pre-primary wing, children came dressed as freedom fighters. The students presented patriotic songs.
In the primary wing, a short play was presented based on the lives of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence. The students were also sensitised about the contribution of the three armies in providing security to the nation.
Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij also motivated the students to participate in the Prime Minister’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ and inspired all the students to display pride in the tiranga and the nation.
