“Sowing smiles, reaping happiness
The festival of Baisakhi was celebrated with great fervor in the primary wing on April 13, 2026 in Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar. Principal ,Dr Rashmi Vij was the guest of honour. The children came dressed up in traditional Punjabi dresses and performed bhangra .Stalls of different food items as
‘Chatori Gali’ were put up. A gift shop was set up and children enjoyed buying small little gifts for themselves and their friends.A games corner was also arranged for the children.
An exhilarating Baisakhi fair, showcasing the culture of Punjab was organised in the primary wing, under the supervision of Ms. Gargi Sharma.The displays included wrestlers wrestling in ‘akhadas’ and Antique brassware and other antiques.The school Principal , Dr. Rashmi Vij conveyed her best wishes to all and blessed everyone with the bounty of the season and a harvest of joy and prosperity.
In the pre primary wing also the festival was celebrated with full enthusiasm under the supervision of Ms Savita Sharma (supervisor pre primary wing). The children did Bhangra. Principal mam Dr Rashmi Vij, presided over the function and praised the students for their wonderful performance. The children came dressed in colourful traditional outfits. The children of UKG participated in modelling and set the ramp on fire with their graceful and confident walk. The children of class1 gave individual dance performances and stole everyone’s heart. The whole event was a huge success.
