Ved Prachar Week and Shravani Upakarma were celebrated at Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar under the inspiration of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi and under the guidance of Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir. The Chaturvedashatakam Parayan Yagna was conducted as part of the celebration. The members of the faculty and students performed the havan yagna and chanted mantras from the four Vedas. The yagna was organised for four days. On this occasion, students from sixth, seventh, and eighth grades recited Vedic mantras aloud. The students were acquainted with the meanings of the Vedic mantras compiled in Swami Dayanand’s book, ‘Aryabhivinay’. In addition, “Van Mahotsav” was organized in the school. Cadets from the NCC Air Wing, Army Wing, Navy Wing, NSS, Scouts and Guides, Kaushal Bodh, and Eco Club members showed great enthusiasm in participating in the event. Plants like Bougainvillea, Chandni, Hibiscus and Neem were planted on the occasion.
